一、学院概况

法学院以培养专业化与职业化相结合，具有国际视野的应用型、复合型法政人才为目标，注重学生全面发展及优良品质的培养。法律学系1983年开始招收法学专业本科生，公共管理学系1993年开始招收行政管理专业本科生。

学院现有三个学科：法学、公共管理学、教育学；两系一所：法律系、公共管理系、高等教育科学研究所；两个一级硕士学位授权点：公共管理学、教育学；三个硕士专业学位授权点：法律、公共管理、教育。

二、师资力量

全院现有专任教师83名，教授11名，副教授20名，多位教师具有境外学习或教研经历。

三、党建成果

全国高校“双带头人”教师党支部书记“强国行”专项行动建设单位——汕头大学法学院法律系教工党支部；广东省高校党建工作标杆院系——汕头大学法学院党委；广东省高校党建工作样板支部——汕头大学法学院法律系教工党支部；广东省高校“双带头人”教师党支部书记工作室——汕头大学法学院法律系教工党支部邓剑光工作室；汕头大学党建工作样板支部——法学院公管系教工党支部、法学院研究生党支部。

四、科研创新

学院现有4个省级科研平台：汕头大学地方政府发展研究所、汕头大学侨乡振兴研究中心、汕头大学公共安全和特区治理研究中心、汕头大学地方治理创新与法治发展研究中心；1个市级科研平台：汕头大学生态治理与法治建设研究中心

2021年至今共立项148项，其中国家级10项，省部级总立项60项，省部级重大/重点及面上项目共9项。在国内外各类刊物发表论文252篇，其中发表英文论文50多篇；北大核心以上重要期刊论文136篇；被采纳咨询报告23篇，被省部级以上部门采纳12篇，市厅级采纳11篇。出版专著/译著24部，科研奖励16项，其中市厅级以上1项。

五、专业竞赛

学生在专业竞赛中屡获佳绩，如“杰赛普”国际模拟法庭比赛参加14届，共获得9次全国一等奖，5次全国二等奖，7次最佳诉状奖，7人次斩获最佳辩手奖，2022年更是获得全国总冠军、国际32强；参加贸仲杯赛事13次，4次获得一等奖、6次二等奖，1次三等奖。

I. Overview of the Faculty

The law school aims to cultivate applied, multidisciplinary legal and political talents who combine specialisation with professionalism and possess an international perspective, emphasising students' all-round development and the cultivation of excellent qualities. The Department of Law began admitting undergraduate students in the field of law in 1983, while the Department of Public Administration commenced admitting undergraduates in the field of administrative management in 1993.

The law school currently comprises three disciplines: Law, Public Administration, and Education; two departments and one institute: the Department of Law, the Department of Public Administration, and Higher Education Research Institute; two first-level Master's degree programmes: Public Administration and Education; and three professional Master's degree programmes: Law, Public Administration, and Education.

II. Faculty Strength

The School employs 83 full-time teaching staff, including 11 Professors and 20 Associate Professors. Numerous faculty members possess overseas study or teaching experience.

III. Research and Innovation

The School currently hosts four provincial-level research platforms:Local Government Development Research Institute of Shantou University , Research Centre for QIAOXIANG Revitalization, Public Safety and Special Zone Governance Research Center, Research Center for Local Governance Innovation and Rule of Law Development; one municipal-level research platform: Shantou University Centre for Ecological Governance and Rule of Law Development.

Since 2021, the School has secured 148 research projects, including 10 national-level projects and 60 provincial/ministerial-level projects, with 9 classified as key provincial/ministerial projects. Research output includes 252 papers published in domestic and international journals, comprising over 50 English-language articles; 136 papers featured in core journals ranked at Peking University level or above; 23 adopted policy advisory reports (12 adopted by provincial/ministerial-level departments and 11 by municipal/departmental-level authorities). Twenty-four monographs/translations have been published, alongside 16 research awards (including one at municipal/departmental level or above).

IV. Professional Competitions

Students have consistently excelled in professional competitions. For instance, in the Jessup International Moot Court Competition, the team has participated in 14 editions, securing 9 national first prizes, 5 national second prizes, 7 Best Pleadings Awards, and 7 Best Advocate Awards. Notably, in 2022, they achieved the national championship and reached the top 32 internationally. In the CIETAC Cup, the team has competed 13 times, winning 4 first prizes, 6 second prizes, and 1 third prize.
